At LeTourneau & Family Orthotics & Prosthetics, we are humbled and deeply honored to receive the 2025 Freedom Award from the Orthotic and Prosthetic Group of America (OPGA). This recognition highlights orthotic and prosthetic providers across the nation who demonstrate exceptional care and commitment to veterans, service members, and their families.

For our team, this honor is more than an award. It is a reflection of the dedication, compassion, and excellence that guide every patient interaction. It reminds us why we do what we do and who we do it for: the men and women who have served our country with courage and sacrifice.

What the Freedom Award Represents

Each year, OPGA recognizes orthotic and prosthetic facilities that go above and beyond in caring for military patients. The Freedom Award celebrates those who combine advanced technology, clinical skill, and human compassion to restore mobility and independence for those who have given so much.

Jeff Kessler, Director of OPGA, described it perfectly when he said, “O&P professionals play a vital role not only in the lives of individual patients but also in the health and resilience of entire communities.”

That spirit of community is what drives us every day. We see firsthand how the right care and the right device can transform lives and help our patients regain confidence, purpose, and freedom.

Our Ongoing Commitment to Veterans

Serving veterans is one of the greatest privileges of our work. Every veteran’s story is unique, and so is every solution we create. From the first consultation to each follow-up visit, we listen carefully to understand each patient’s needs, goals, and challenges.

Our team specializes in designing and fitting custom orthotic and prosthetic devices that do more than restore movement. They help our patients reclaim the activities and independence they value most. Many veterans face complex rehabilitation journeys, and we are proud to walk beside them every step of the way.

Receiving the Freedom Award reinforces our promise to continue raising the standard of care and finding new ways to make a difference in the lives of those who have served.

Honoring Our Patients and Our Team

This recognition belongs to our patients and to our entire team. Our veteran patients inspire us daily with their strength and perseverance. We are continually moved by their determination to overcome obstacles and embrace each new challenge with resilience and optimism.

We also want to recognize our dedicated staff whose expertise and compassion make this award possible. Every member of our team plays a vital role in the patient experience. From clinical care to administrative support, each person contributes to creating a welcoming, respectful, and healing environment.

As a family-owned practice, we treat our patients like family. That personal connection is the foundation of our work and the reason so many people trust us with their care.

Building a Stronger Community Together

This award also reflects the strength of our community. We believe that caring for veterans extends beyond the clinic walls. Through education, outreach, and collaboration with local organizations, we are committed to raising awareness about the importance of orthotic and prosthetic care and the lasting impact it has on quality of life.

The O&P field continues to evolve rapidly with advances in materials, design, and digital technology. We are proud to be part of this progress and to bring these innovations to the people who need them most. True innovation, however, is about more than technology. It is about people. It is about listening, adapting, and caring with empathy and understanding.

Looking Ahead

We are incredibly grateful to OPGA for this honor and to the many patients and families who have placed their trust in us. While this award recognizes what we have achieved, it also inspires us to reach even higher in the years ahead.

Our commitment remains the same: to help our patients move forward with confidence, to give them the tools to live active and fulfilling lives, and to honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans.

As we display the Freedom Award in our office, it will serve as a daily reminder of why we do this work. We restore mobility, dignity, and confidence, one patient at a time.

Thank you to our patients, our incredible staff, and our supportive community. This recognition is a shared achievement, and we are proud to celebrate it with you.
